Take a shot every time I say the word animation.

I have worked as a 2D Animator at Jam Filled Entertainment, and am a graduate of the Animation program at Algonquin College. This medium has always stuck with me when I needed it, so being in the program and around people like me has really enhanced my life. Though the COVID-19 pandemic hindered it significantly, but anywho...

I love animation - Hand drawn, Harmony rigged, 3D, stop motion; in short, any animation that was made by a human being and not some prompt machine. Fellow animators like to talk about being a jack-of-all-trades in what kind of skillsets they can show (character animation, effects, layouts, character design, etc.), and I try to have that in the styles and tones I do in my work. I'm a huge fan of more fleshed out feature animation (e.g. Pixar, Disney Animation, Sony, DreamWorks, etc.), but I'm also a huge fan of more simplistic, writing focused cartoons, particularly those by Jay Ward. It's a perfect example of apples and oranges, but you know what? Apples and oranges are equally delicious, even though they couldn't be more different, and the same applies to my love for these eras and styles of animation. And also my taste in music genres. What can I say? I'm a man of many tastes. Odd, questionable tastes.

Hard as it is to believe, I have interests outside of animation - movies in all mediums, jazz and blues (especially with the sax), classic rock, biking, retro/nostalgic aesthetics, and some good ol' fashion fries and a shake to drown my sorrows in.

To get a further grasp of the apples/oranges analogy here are examples of my favourite animated pieces of media:

Apples:

Oranges:
Rocky and Bullwinkle, The Simpsons, Looney Tunes, Underdog, Dexter's Laboratory

I love old apples, current apples, old oranges and current oranges. Expiries and all. I need to see a doctor.
Outside of that, these are my favourite songs:

Benny Goodman - Sing Sing Sing
Stevie Wonder - For Once In My Life
Supertramp - Dreamer
The Doors - Break On Through
The Who - Baba O'Riley
